Meet Jaqueline Idalia Chitima - Hussein

My background

I'm a Chartered Accountant with a deep passion for finance, innovation, and mentorship. Over the years, I’ve helped businesses and individuals make sense of complex financial challenges while embracing technology to drive smarter, more efficient solutions. Beyond my work, I’m a speaker, mentor, and proud mom committed to empowering others through shared experiences, leadership, and lifelong learning.

Whether I’m advising on financial strategy, mentoring future leaders, or speaking on innovation, my approach is always people-first. I focus on simplifying complexity, embracing technology, and creating space for meaningful growth both in business and in life. I lead with purpose, guided by integrity, curiosity, and a deep respect for the journey of others.

CAREER TIMELINE

 

1996 – 1998 PJ Construction 

Sales Executive. Began career selling building materials; learned operations and   stakeholder management on construction projects.


1998 – 1999 Randalls Group 

Personal Assistant to Divisional

CEO.  Early exposure to corporate leadership and executive 

coordination.


1999 – 2003 First Mutual Asset Management (Property Division) 

Property Investment Administrator. Oversaw from project kickoff to payment ; worked on Arundel Office Park and First Mutual Head Office developments.

 

2003 – 2007

Ernst & Young Zimbabwe → South Africa. She entered Chartered Accountancy training (2003); transferred to   E&Y SA in 2007; promoted Assistant Manager by 2009.


2010 

Founded July28 Consulting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, later moved HQ to Harare. She became the first registered female-owned and run accounting   firm in Zimbabwe (2020 Independent feature).


2014 – 2015 

Formed strategic tech alliances: Caseware Africa (July   2014) & Kofax (2015). She introduced automation software for audit and financial reporting;   won Top African Partner Awards for largest turnover growth and new   business volume. Became CaseWare’s exclusive Zimbabwe partner.

 

2015  

SME Association of Zimbabwe Award – 1st Runner-Up “Woman   Entrepreneur of the Year.” 

National recognition for female entrepreneurship and SME impact.


2016 – 2017 

Partnership with Confirmation.com (2017) and Kofax Intelligent Automation roll-outs via Lexmark   & Sharp alliances. She expanded into enterprise content automation and document   digitization across Zimbabwe & region. Opened Bulawayo branch (2017).


2017 – 2020 

Mentorship & Ecosystem Leadership  Advisory Board member, Impact Hub Harare; judge & mentor for Seedstars,  Youth Connekt, Enactus, BOOST Fellowship.

Advocated entrepreneurship and youth empowerment; publicly   committed to mentoring five start-ups per year for 20 years.

2018 – 2020

July28 – Main sponsor of PAAB Annual Conference (3 years) and partner with Institute of Administrators (IAC) on CPD   events. Cemented reputation as industry leader in accounting professional   development.


2020 (July)

10th Anniversary Feature in Zimbabwe 

Independent .

Multi-page profile celebrating a decade of impact, female leadership and digital innovation in finance.


Nov 2020 → Jun 2025

Independent Non-Executive Director – Simbisa Brands Ltd.  Board appointment announced Nov 2020 (African Financials);   effective Jan 2021 and served for four and half years 

.

2021 – 2025 

Non-Executive Deputy Chair – FMC Finance Zimbabwe and Zambia. Governance roles overseeing financial services and regional expansion.


2022 – 2023 

Published reflective essay on Medium – “Finding Your Calling:   My Journey.” Shared personal philosophy on purpose, faith and leadership:   turning uncertainty into calling; garnered positive reader engagement.


2024 – 2025 

Speaker and Thought Leader – ICAZ   Public Sector Convention, Women Accountants Forum, KPMG Audit Committee Forum. Topics: AI in Accounting, Digitization of Audit, Women in   Leadership. Featured in event social media and press snippets.

 

2025 – Present
